History of Public Health

Public health is comprised of expertise and skills from many areas, including biology, environmental and earth science, sociology, psychology, government, medicine, statistics, and communication. This complexity makes it difficult for the general public to understand exactly what public health is and what it does. In this module, you’ll learn the history of public health and explain the evolution of concepts about the cause and prevention of disease.
